Hawks stretch streak to six with easy win over lowly Mavericks

TIM Hardaway Jr. scored 22 points, Dwight Howard had 15 points and 20 rebounds as the Atlanta Hawks soared past the Dallas Mavericks, 97-82, on Saturday (Sunday, Manila time) for their sixth straight win.

Hardaway was 7 of 13 from the field and sank five 3-pointers. Dennis Schroder added 20 points and three 3-pointers, taking up the slack for Kyle Korver who was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Atlanta was 11 for 22 from beyond the arc.

Paul Millsap finished with a solid all-around game with 17 points, nine rebounds and six assists despite trade rumors.

The Mavericks tried to rally in the last period behind guard J.J. Barea to cut the Hawks’ lead to 69-67. Atlanta countered with a 15-4 run to extend the margin to 84-71.

Harrison Barnes had 21 points for the Mavericks which lost its second straight game. Dirk Nowitzki and Devon Harris each added 11 points.
