THE New Orleans Pelicans squandered an 18-point lead but did enough to hold off the Grizzlies, 95-91, on Wednesday in Memphis (Thursday, Manila time).

The Grizzlies got to within one, Vince Carter’s triple off a Marc Gasol assist making it 91-92, but Anthony Davis hit a long jumper to give the Pelicans breathing space.

Davis finished with 18 points as New Orleans scored its second straight win.

Solomon Hill had a season-high 23 points, but only had two in the fourth.

Jrue Holiday scored 19 and Alexis Ajinca had 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Pelicans, who notched their 23rd win in 57 games.

The Grizzlies suffered their 24th loss in 58 outings.

Mike Conley scored 17, Zach Randolph came off the bench to deliver 16 points.

Marc Gasol had 15 points, 12 rebounds, and was an assist short of a triple double.
