Magic end three-game slide with victory over Hawks

THE Orlando Magic broke away from a tight game with a strong fourth quarter for a 131-120 victory over the Hawks on Tuesday in Atlanta (Wednesday, Manila time).

Serge Ibaka and Elfrid Payton led the way as the Magic ended a three-game skid and notched their 11th win in 26 games.

Ibaka scored 29 on 11 of 18 shooting, while Payton came off the bench to play 35 minutes and deliver 26 points for Orlando.

Evan Fournier came up wth 23 points in 33 minutes of action for Orlando, Jodie Meeks and Jeff Green also delivered huge as reserves, scoring 20 and 16, respectively.

The Hawks saw their win run end at two games, even as all starters and a reserve came up with double-digit scores.

Dwight Howard had 20 points and 16 rebounds, while Dennis Schroder scored 19 and issued 13 assists.

Paul Millsap and Thabo Sefolosha scored 17 each, while Tim Hardaway and Kyle Korver had 12 points apiece for Atlanta, which absorbed its 13th loss in 25 games.
