Thunder take charge in third and cruise to victory over Timberwolves

THE Thunder took charge in the third quarter and cruised to victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, 112-100, on Sunday in Oklahoma City (Monday, Manila time).

Russell Westbrook and Steven Adams showed the way as the Thunder created a gap with an early third-quarter spurt for an 80-68 lead en route to their third straight win.

Westbrook scored 31 points and made 15 assists as the Thunder notched their 19th win in 31 games.

Adams scored 22 points on 9 of 12 shooting, while Enes Kanter came off the bench to deliver 20 points in 29 minutes of action.

The Timberwolves absorbed their second straight loss and 21st in 30 outings even as Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins again came up with big games.

Towns scored 36 points on 10 of 20 shooting, while Wiggins also went 10 for 20 in scoring 23.

Zach LaVine saw action for 31 minutes and came up with 16 points.
