Antetokounmpo, Brogdon show way as Bucks turn back Thunder

GIANNIS Antetokounmpo had a double-double and Malcolm Brogdon made the game-winning free throws as the Milwaukee Bucks were able to contain Russell Westbrook to take a 98-94 come-from-behind win against the Oklahoma City Thunder at home on Monday (Tuesday, Manila time).

‘The Greek Freak’ was 10 for 19 from the field to finish with 26 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for the Bucks who have won two in a row.

Oklahoma City led by as many as 15 points in the first half and were up 56-50 at halftime.

The Bucks took off in the third quarter and outscored the Thunder 29-16 to take a seven point lead at the end of the period.

Westbrook led a Thunder rally in the last quarter and his 3-pointer tied the game 94-all with 1:44 left in the game.

The Bucks took the lead 96-94 after a John Henson lay-up courtesy of an assist from Antetokounmpo. Westbrook missed from downtown at the other end and fouled rookie guard Brogdon who sank both freethrows to seal the win.

Jabari Parker added 19 points and six rebounds. John Henson and Brogdon both chipped in 12 points while reserve center Greg Monroe delivered 15 points and seven boards.

Westbrook had 30 points but was only nine for 28 from the field. He also had seven rebounds and six assists with the Bucks being the fifth team this season to prevent him from getting a triple double. Steven Adams added 20 points and Victor Oladipo buried four triples en route to 18 markers.
