With Mavs coach Rick Carlisle watching, D-League affiliate Legends score wire-to-wire win over Bighorns

THE Texas Legends evened things with the Reno Bighorns, cruising to a 124-111 victory in the second game of a back-to-back set on Saturday in Frisco (Sunday, Manila time).

Three Legends came up with double-doubles with Jeremy Evans and Salah Mejri, on assignment from the Dallas Mavericks, helping out their Developmental League affiliate post the wire to wire victory.

Brandon Ashley was the third Texas player who posted double-doubles but Fil-Am Ray Parks was kept out and didn’t get to show his wares as Mavericks coach Rick Carlise watched on the sidelines.

The Mavericks won over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday and won;t see action until Tuesday on the road against the Toronto Raptors.

Evans had 25 points and 11 rebounds, Ashley came up with 19 and 11, while Mejri had 12-11 for the Legends, who avenged an eight-point loss to the Bighorns the day before.

Justin Anderson, also on assignment from the Mavericks, had 24 points, four assists and three rebounds for the Legends.

Reno’s Vincent Hunter led all scorers with 31 points, while David Stockton added 19.

The Legends evened their win-loss record to 6-6, while dealing the Bighorns their sixth loss in 13 outings.
