Pacers star Paul George returns to Manila as guest coach of Nike Rise aspirants

NBA star Paul George is returning to Manila.

The Indiana Pacers star is set to arrive on Sunday for a brief visit where he will act as guest coach of Nike Rise, a reality documentary program and talent search that challenges Filipino players to rise to the challenge.

George will appear before mediamen upon his arrival and will make another appearance on Monday at the House of Rise, located at Gold’s Gym Sheridan in Mandaluyong City, where 24 players chosen from a series of tryouts nationwide will be given specialized training to reach their full potential.

George last visited the country in October, 2013 when the Pacers met the Houston Rockets played in a preseason game, the first NBA match in the Philippines.  

The versatile 6-10 swingman suffered a gruesome leg injury in August 2014 during a Team USA scrimmage but came back to rejoin the Pacers before the end of the season.

George is expected to lead a retooled Indiana team for the 2015-16 season.
