RUSSELL Westbrook nabbed his 26th triple-double of the season in leading a pivotal run late in the fourth to help the Oklahoma City Thunder snap the Cleveland Cavaliers four-game win run with a 118-109 victory at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on Thursday (Friday, Manila time).

Westbrook scored eight of his 29 points in the fourth quarter and also added two of his 11 assists in a crucial rally to pull away from the Cavs down the stretch. He also grabbed 12 boards to bring his triple double total to 26, tied for third most in a season with Oscar Robertson.

OKC weathered several Cleveland rallies after building big leads throughout the game. The Thunder led 29-21 after one quarter then extended the lead to 12 before the Cavaliers closed the first half strong with a 9-2 run to go on top 57-55 at the break.

Just as the Thunder threatened to pull away with an eight point lead late in the third, the Cavs stormed back to cut the gap to one early in the fourth, 88-87. After trailing by seven with 8:15 left, Cleveland even managed to tie the game at 99 midway through the final frame.

But Westbrook presided over a 12-2 run, capped by his 10th assist to notch another triple double on a Victor Oladipo drive, to give the Thunder a comfortable 111-101 edge with 2:08 to play.

Tristan Thompson got Cleveland back within seven but Oladipo hit a huge trey off another Westbrook assist to bring the lead back to 10, 116-106, with 1:07 remaining, which prompted Cavs coach Tyronne Lue to raise the white flag and bring in his reserves.

Oladipo added 23 points for the Thunder (31-23), while Steven Adams had a double-double of 20 markers and 13 rebounds. Cameron Payne also chipped in 15 off the bench.

Kyrie Irving led the Cavs (36-16) with 28 points, while LeBron James went scoreless in the fourth to finish with 18 markers. Kevin Love had a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards.
