Nikola Mirotic scores season-high 28 as Bulls defeat Pistons

THE Bulls got back on track with a 117-95 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday in Chicago (Thursday, Manila time).

Nikola Mirotic scored a season-high 28 points, making 12 of 15 field goal attempts including 4 for 6 from beyond the arc as the Bulls bounced back from a loss to the Toronto Raptors.

Joffrey Lauvergne shot 7 for 13 ad wound up with 17 points, getting a start with Robin Lopez suspended one game after trading punches with Toronto’s Serge Ibaka.

Jimmy Butler had a double-double of 16 points and 12 assists, while Paul Zipser scored 15 for Chicago, which recorded its 34th win in 72 outings, still a notch below the playoff places.

The Pistons, two places out of the playoff spots, suffered their second straight loss and fifth in the last six games.

Marcus Morris and Tobias Harris had 14 points each for Detroit, which also has a 34-38 win-loss record.
