Nikola Jokic has triple-double as Nuggets get back on track with victory over Bulls

NIKOLA Jokic had 19 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists and the Denver Nuggets took advantage of a high-scoring second-half to beat the Chicago Bulls, 125-107, on Tuesday night (Wednesday, Manila time) in Chicago.

It was Jokic’s third triple-double of the season for a Denver team that is fourth in the NBA in scoring with 110.6 points per game.

Danilo Gallinari scored 22 points and Wilson Chandler added 20 as Denver, which entered the game fourth in the NBA in scoring (110.6 points per game)

The Nuggets were trailing the hometown team 56-59 before they outscored Chicago, 70-48, in the second half to snap the Bulls’ four-game winning streak.

The Nuggets went on a 35-point third quarter to take a 91-83 lead into the fourth.

Denver scored the first eight points in the last period to cement their lead. Gallinari scored on consecutive three-pointers to break the game wide open.

Gary Harris and Will Barton each scored 15 points for Denver.

Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo had 19 points apiece for the Bulls. Jimmy Butler had an off-night and finished with just eight points on 3-for-13 shooting.
