THE top three MVP nominees as well as other NBA awards finalists and the All-NBA teams will all be known this week, the league announced on Monday (Tuesday, Manila time).

The members of the All-NBA First, Second and Third teams will be revealed on Thursday (Friday, Manila time), while the top three candidates for each of the individual awards will be announced in a special pre-game show ahead of Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday (Saturday, Manila time).

A global panel of sportswriters and broadcasters were tasked to choose the members of the All-NBA teams, voting for two guards, two forwards and one center for each team. Players who get votes at multiple positions will be slotted at the spot where they got the most number of votes.

On the other hand, TNT’s ‘Inside the NBA’ studio team will reveal who the top three nominees for each of the following awards: MVP, Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Sixth Man award, Most Improved Player, and Coach of the Year.

The NBA Awards nominees and winners are also picked by a global panel of sportswriters and broadcasters. But for the MVP award, fans are allowed to submit votes by ranking their top five picks on, Twitter or Google. The fan vote counts as one vote that can help determine the MVP winner.

For the first time in NBA history, the league will reveal all the winners in one special show with the inaugural NBA Awards on June 26 in New York’s Basketball City. The show will be hosted by Drake and will be broadcast on TNT.
