NBA great Ray Allen made a surprise appearance in the PBA Governors' Cup games to the delight of the fans at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday.

Allen, who arrived in the country on Tuesday, watched the game between Blackwater and TnT Katropa from the sidelines then granted a short television interview.

During a brief break in the opening minutes of the second quarter due to technical problem, Allen even approached former Celtic teammate Henry "Bill" Walker who is playing for the Elite.

The two played together in the 2008-2009 season.

Taking advantage of the break, the whole Elite team even posed for a 'groufie' with a player regarded as one of the best shooters in the history of the NBA.

It was Allen's first visit in the Philippines, where he was welcomed by its horrendous traffic. He then met with the players of NCAA leader Lyceum in Intramuros.

The two-time NBA champion last played for the Miami Heat in 2014 but officially retired only last year.
