Hornets stretch streak to three with easy win over cold-shooting Magic

THE Southeast Division-leading Hornets stretched their streak to three, defeating the Orlando Magic, 109-88, on Friday in Charlotte (Saturday, Manila time).

Michael Kidd Gilchrist scored 16 points on 6 of 9 shooting, while Nicolas Batum matched that output by making six of 11 field goal attempts, and was a rebound shy of a double-double.

The Hornets recorded their 14th win in 23 games, with Kemba Walker delivering 15 points.

Ramon Sessions and Jeremy Lamb came off the bench to score 12 points apiece for Charlotte, which next takes on the titleholders Cleveland Cavaliers.

Only two players scored in double figures for Orlando, which shot 26 percent and absorbed its second straight loss.

Evan Fournier had 14 points and Serge Ibaka came up with 12 as the Magic suffered their 14th loss in 24 games.
