Lou Williams comes up huge in Rockets debut, helps spoil Cousins' first game with Pelicans

LOU Williams played huge in his debut with Houston as the Rockets routed the Pelicans, 129-99, and spoiled DeMarcus Cousins’ first game with Anthony Davis at New Orleans on Thursday (Friday, Manila time).

Williams, traded for Corey Brewer by the Lakers, scored 27 points, hitting seven triples, as the Rockets bounced back from a loss to the Miami Heat.

Eric Gordon also came off the bench to deliver 19 points for Houston, which notched its 41st win in 59 outings.

James Harden had 13 points and 14 assists.

The Pelicans saw their win streak end at two even as Cousins came up with a solid debut.

Cousins had 27 points of 11 of 19 shooting and pulled down 14 rebounds, while Davis delivered 29 points, making  8 of 21 field goal attempts.

New Orleans absorbed its 35th loss in 58 games.
