Spurs stop the bleeding to regain series lead over Grizzlies

THE Spurs regained the lead in the first round series with the Memphis Grizzlies with a 116-103 victory in Game Five on Tuesday in San Antonio (Wednesday, Manila time).

Kawhi Leonard showed the way as usual, while Patty Mills came up huge off the bench as the Western Conference No. 2 seeds got back on track after two straight losses to No. 7 Memphis.

The Spurs saw an 18-point third quarter lead trimmed to four, 83-87, but pulled away late.

Leonard wound up with 28 points on 9 of 16 shooting, while Mills went 7 for 10 and delivered 20 points.

Tony Parker had 16 points, making 6 of 12 field goal attempts, while LaMarcus Aldridge had 12 points and was a rebound short of a double-double. 

The series, now at 3-2, shifts to Memphis for Game Six on Thursday.

Mike Conley scored 26 on 10 of 17 shooting, Marc Gasol added 17, while Jamychal Green came off the bench to score 11.
