Cavaliers ride huge third quarter to beat Nuggets and get back on winning track

THE Cavaliers held the Denver Nuggets scoreless in five-minutes in the third quarter and cruised to a 125-109 victory on Saturday in Cleveland (Sunday, Manila time).

LeBron James led the way as usual as the Cavaliers padded a four-point lead at halftime to 22 points, 77-55, with six minutes left in the third.

The Cavaliers bounced back from a loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

James scored 27 points on 11 of 16 shooting, while Irving matched the output by making 10 of 24 field goal attempts including 5 of 11 from beyond the arc.

Kevin Love came up with 16 points, while Kyle Korver added 14 off the bench as the Cavaliers notched their 37th win in 53 games.

The Nuggets could not get a win run going after beating the Knicks, and absorbed their 30th loss in 54 outings.

Nikola Jokic scored 27 on 9 of 18 shooting, while Gary Harris and Jamal Murray had 16 points each.
