Hawks squander early double-digit lead but recover to beat Cavaliers

THE Atlanta Hawks wasted an early double-digit lead but recovered to defeat the Cavaliers, 114-100, on Friday in Cleveland (Saturday, Manila time).

Tim Hardaway Jr. and Mike Dunleavy showed the way for the Hawks, who led 23-34 in the second, fell behind by nine in the third before taking control in the endgame.

The Hawks made it back-to-back wins over Eastern Conference leaders, earlier defeating the Boston Celtics.

Hardaway went 9 for 14 and scored 22 points, while Dunleavy scored 20 on 6 of 9 shooting as the Hawks notched their 41st win in 79 games.

The Cavaliers saw their win streak end at four, absorbing their 28th loss in 79 outings.
