THE Cavaliers survived a scare from the Charlotte Hornets, rallying in the fourth quarter for a 100-93 victory on Sunday in Cleveland (Monday, Manila time).

James scored 11 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter, while Frye finished with a season-high 20 points.

The titleholders improved to an Eastern Conference best 8-1 record, while the surprising Hornets  suffered only their third loss in nine outings.

Frye made six of his 12 attempts from teh three-point line.

Kyrie Irving came up with 19 points and Kevin Love chipped in with 17 for the Cavaliers, who next host the Toronto Rraptors.

The Hornets fought back after slipping behind by 10 early, taking a two-point lead at the half and was still up by a hairline entering the fourth.

Kemba Walker had 21 points, while Marvin Williams added 16 for Charlotte, which next takes on Minnesota.
