Porzingis, Lee take charge as Knicks side missing Melo and DRose overcome Heat

KRISTAPS Porzingis and Courtney Lee took charge as the New York Knicks missing Carmelo Anthony and Derrick Rose downed the Heat, 98-94, on Friday in Miami (Saturday, Manila time).

The Knicks took a 15-4 lead and overcame several rallies by Miami, bouncing back after a loss when they hosted the Heat two days ago.

Porzingis scored 22 on 10 of 18 shooting, while Lee went 6 for 15 and wound up with 20 points.

Justin Holiday came off the bench to score 12, while Willy Hernangomez and Ron Baker chipped in with 10 points each.

The Knicks notched their 29th win in 76 outings even as Anthony was out due to a back problem and Rose a knee injury.

The Heat saw their win streak end at two.

Goran Dragic scored 22 on 8 of 17 shooting, while Hassan Whiteside had 17 points and 16 rebounds.

Tyler Johnson came up with 15 points off the bench for Miami, which absorbed its 39th loss in 76 games.
