Kristaps Porzingis, Derrick Rose carry Knicks to victory over Magic

THE New York Knicks overcame a second-quarter mini-rally by the Magic and held on for a 101-90 victory on Wednesday in Orlando (Thursday, Manila time).

Kristaps Porzingis and Derrick Rose showed the way for the Knicks, who saw an early double-digit lead trimmed down to one in the second quarter before regaining control to bounce back from a loss to the Toronto Raptors.

The Knicks notched their 25th win in 51 games.

Porzingis scored 20 and was a rebound short of a double-double, while Rose had 19 points on 8 of 14 shooting, while also pulling down seven rebounds and issuing four assists.

Carmelo Anthony also narrowly missed posting a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds for the Knicks.

The Magic absorbed their 38th loss in 60 outings.

Evan Fournier had 22 points and DJ Augustin came off the bench to chip in 15 markers for Orlando.
