HALL of Famer James Worthy has compared New York Knicks draft pick Kristaps Porzingis to Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Durant.

According to Bleacher Report, the assessment was based on the Knicks’ top draft pick’s initial performance in his NBA debut at the Las Vegas Summer League.

Porzingis saw action for 18 minutes on Saturday (Sunday, Manila time) and that was enough time for Worthy, who was in Sin City as part of the Los Angeles Lakers coverage, to be impressed.

“He’s a freak of nature. He’s a combination of Dirk Nowtizki and Kevin Durant,” said the Hall of Famer of the lanky Latvian forward.

The fourth overall pick, who was roundly booed by Knicks fans after he was chosen, has displayed a deft shooting touch from mid-range that uses the glass to his advantage, a play based on finesse and mobility for a player his size.

Porzingis posted nine points against the Lakers after scoring 12 in his debut against the San Antonio Spurs.
