Kevin Love continues solid play as Cavs whip depleted Mavs for third straight win

KEVIN Love had 27 points, Kyrie Irving scored 25 as the Cleveland Cavaliers won their third straight game at the expense of the depleted Dallas Mavericks 128-90 on Friday (Saturday, Manila time).

One game asfter posting arecord 34 points in a quarter, Love's hot shooting continued and he sank 7 of 9 three point attempts and also grabbed 10 rebounds as the defending champions put the game away as early as it led 36-16 at the end of the first quarter.

The second half did not fare well for the Mavs who were down by as much as 45 points.

LeBron James had 19 points, 11 assists and five rebounds in 29 minutes of action while Tristan Thompson grabbed 12 boards to go along with his 11 points.

The Cavaliers were impressive from downtown and were a collective 20-43 from deep for a 46.5 percent clip.

The Cavs starters did not return in the last period and the team emptied its bench. Every player from Cleveland scored at least three points.  

Dallas missed the services of point guards to injury: JJ Barea (calf) and Devin Harris (toe) as it absorbed its eighth straight loss. Dirk Nowitzki had 15 points while Harrison Barnes added 12. Deron Williams, returning from a calf injury, finished with four points and five assists.
