KENTAVIOUS Caldwell-Pope scored a career-high 38 points, hitting eight triples, as the Detroit Pistons downed the New Orleans Pelicans, 118-98, in a battle of skidding teams on Wednesday in Auburn Hills, Michigan (Thursday, Manila time).

Pope went 12 for 18 including 8 for 11 from beyond the arc as the Pistons ended a three-game slide.

Tobias Harris came up with 19 points and Andre Drummond scored 17 for Detroit, which notched its 22nd win in 49 outings.

It was the third straight loss and 31st in 50 games for the Pelicans.

Anthony Davis played 41 minutes, making 13 of 24 field goal attempts and finishing with 31 points for New Orleans.

Jrue Holiday scored 22 points on 10 of 17 shooting.
