Spurs fight back from 21 down to beat Thunder even as Westbrook posts 39th triple-double of season

THE San Antonio Spurs overcame a sluggish start to beat the Thunder, 100-95, on Friday in Oklahoma City (Saturday, Manila time).

Kawhi Leonard showed the way for the Spurs, who trailed 26-45 in the second quarter.

The Thunder maintained the huge lead until the third, holding a 69-48 advantage before the Spurs fought back and wound up on top after a tight endgame.

Leonard scored 28 on 10 of 22 shooting, while Pau Gasol came off the bench to score 17.

The Spurs bounced back from a loss to the Golden State Warriors and notched their sixth win in the lat seven games.

LaMarcus Aldridge had a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Patty Mills scored 10 as the Spurs improved their win-loss record to 58-17.

The Thunder saw their win streak end at two even as Russell Westbrook posted his 39th triple-double.

Westbrook had 32 points, 15 rebounds and 12 assists for Oklahoma City, which absorbed its 32nd loss in 75 games.

Victor Oladipo scored 16 and Steven Adams added 13 for the Thunder.
