Wolves stretch streak to three with win over Thunder as Westbrook triple-double is marred by 10 turnovers

KARL-Anthony Towns had with 29 points and 17 rebounds, Ricky Rubio had 14 points and 14 assists to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to their third straight win, 96-86, against the Oklahoma City Thunder, spoiling Russell Westbrook’s 19th triple double on Friday (Saturday, Manila time).

Andrew Wiggins added 19 points and Brandon Rush had 11 for Minnesota, which won three in a row for the first time this season.

The young Wolves used improved defense to limit the Thunder to 38.8 percent shooting and forced the Thunder to 19 turnovers resulting in 33 points.

The Thunder managed to score only a total of 36 points in the last two quarters after a halftime lead of of 50-45.   

Russell Westbrook had 21 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds. He also had 10 turnovers in OKC's first loss in four games. Enes Kanter had 21 points and eight rebounds.

Minnesota is currently 8-8 after starting the season 6-18 under coach Tim Thibodeau.
