Karl-Anthony Towns hits go-ahead jumper as Wolves nip Nuggets for second straight win

KARL-Anthony Towns hit the go-ahead basket off a Tyus Jones assist and the Minnesota Timberwolves nipped the Denver Nuggets, 111-108, on Sunday in Minneapolis (Monday, Manila time).

Towns’ jumper with 42 seconds left made it 108-106 and the Timberwolves held on for their second straight win an 16th in 44 outings.

The Timberwolves erased a nine-point deficit in the fourth and dealt the Nuggets their 25th loss in 43 games.

Towns wound up with 32 points and 12 rebounds.

Andrew Wiggins scored 24 points on 10 of 19 shooting, while Shabazz Muhammad came off the bench to deliver 20 points, making 9 of 14 field goal attempts.

Gary Harris scored 22 points, going 9 for 13, for the Nuggets.

Denver also got 18 points from Nikola Jokic, while Wilson Chandler and Jamal Murray had 17 points each.
