JOEL Embiid scores career-high 46 as the Philadelphia 76ers edged the Lakers, 115-109, on Wednesday in Los Angeles (Thursday, Manila time).

The Sixers notched their second straight win after defeating the Clippers, and now hold an 8-6 win-loss record.

Embiid's previous high was 33 points. He went 14 for 20 in 34 minutes, while Ben Simmons went 8 for 13 and finished with 18 points.

Robert Covington scored 12 and JJ Redick added 11 for Philadelphia.

Brandon Ingram led the Lakers with 26 points on 11 of 18 shooting, while Kyle Kuzma went 9 for 18 and scored 24 points.

Lakers starting guard Lonzo Ball scored only two points, going 1 for 9 including six three-point attempts. He did not see action in the fourth quarter against Phoenix and again against the Sixers.

Jordan Clarkson again came off the bench and came up with some big endgame baskets for the Lakers, scoring 20 on 8 of 21 shooting.

The Lakers could not get a win run going, though, and absorbed their ninth loss in 15 outings.
