Jason Richardson ends his career days before traning camp for the new season starts.

JASON Richardson is walking away from professional basketball after 14 seasons.

The 34-year-old swingman, who has a non-guaranteed contract with Atlanta, calls it quits just days before the Hawks training camp opens.

The two-time slam dunk champion averaged 17.1 points, five rebounds and 2.7 assists per game on 43.8 percent shooting in 14 years in the NBA.

Picked fifth overall in the 2001 NBA draft by Golden State, Richardson went on to play until 2007 for the Warriors and suited up for the Charlotte Bobcats, Phoenix Suns, Orlando Magic and Philadelphia 76ers before signing in August with the Atlanta Hawks.
