Rockets take charge early and hold on to deal Spurs third straight home loss

JAMES Harden posted a triple-double as the Houston Rockets held off the Spurs, 101-99, on Wednesday in San Antonio (Thursday, Manila time).

Harden scored 24 points, issued 15 assists and pulled down 12 rebounds as the Rockets scored their fifth win in eight games.

Ryan Anderson scored 20 points, Eric Gordon added 15 and Sam Dekker chipped in with 12 for Houston, which took charge early and survived a late San Antonio charge.

The Rockets and Spurs face off again on Sunday.

Kawhi Leonard scored 24 points, while LaMarcus Aldridge had 14 points for the Rockets, who were coming off a loss to the Clippers.
