Rockets squander big early lead but recover to beat Cavaliers

THE Rockets blew a big early lead but managed to hold off the Cleveland Cavaliers, 117-113, on Thursday in Houston (Friday, Manila time).

James Harden showed the way as the Rockets used a huge 35-26 third quarter and held on to post their fourth straight win.

The Rockets squandered an early 18-point lead and found themselves trailing by two, but rallied to regain control.

Harden scored 35 on 8 of 21 shooting, making 6 of 14 three-point atempts, as the Rockets improved to 9-3.

The Cavaliers, meanwhile, just couldn’t get a win run going.

LeBron James and Co. coming off a win over the Milwaukee Bucks, suffered their seventh loss in 12 outings.

James scored 33 points and made seven assists but committed nine turnovers.

Jeff Green came off the bench to score 27 for Cleveland.
