Rockets level series with wire-to-wire victory over Spurs

THE Rockets took charge early and cruised to a 125-104 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday in Houston (Monday, Manila time) to level the Western Conference semifinal series.

James Harden and Eric Gordon showed the way for the Rockets, who scored the game’s first five points and never let up.

Houston took control with a 34-22 first quarter, got sloppy and allowed the Spurs to get to within two before regaining their groove to seal the win.

Harden scored 28 on 10 of 18 shooting, while Eric Gordon came off the bench to deliver 22 points, making 8 of 13 field goal attempts.

Trevor Ariza scored 16, while Ryan Anderson and Lou Williams had 13 points each.

Game Five is on Tuesday in San Antonio.

Jonathon Simmons cake off the bench to score 17 for San Antonio, while LaMarcus Aldridge and Kawhi Leonard had 16 points each.
