Miami Heat stretch streak to seven with victory over Detroit Pistons

GORAN Dragic scored 23 points, Wayne Ellington added 19 off the bench as the red hot Heat extended their winning streak to seven with a 116-103 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Saturday in Miami (Sunday, Manila time).

The Heat tied a season-high 14 3-pointers with Ellington making 5 of 7 attempts, three in under two minutes in the fourth quarter to help the Heat pull away.

James Johnson added 18 off the bench and Dion Waiters scored 17 for Miami.

Detroit was up 91-90 to start the fourth quarter before Miami limited the Pistons to just 12 points while scoring 26 in the final period.

Dragic scored five straight points to start the quarter and Whiteside delivered consecutive putbacks to extend the Heat lead to eight, 105-97 with 6:24 left in the game.

The Heat had an 11-30 record before the streak and has not lost since. Detroit has lost twice in a row.   

Reggie Jackson led Detroit with 24 points. Andre Drummond had 17 points and 20 rebounds. Tobias Harris added 16 points and Marcus Morris delivered 14 markers.
