Heat score first back-to-back wins of season, beat Wizards in battle of strugglers

THE Miami Heat posted its highest score and notched back-to-back wins this season, downing the Wizards, 114-111, on Saturday in Washington (Sunday, Manila time).

Hassan Whiteside came up with a huge double-double of 18 points and 18 rebounds as the Heat scored a follow-up to their victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Goran Dragic scored 22 points to lead the Heat in scoring, while James Johnson came off the bench to play 27 minutes and score 17.

All Heat starters scored in double figures, with Dion Waiters delivering 16 points, Josh Richardson chipping in with 15 and Derrick Williams 12.

The Heat also spoiled big games from Washington stars John Wall and Bradley Beal.

The Wizards absorbed their ninth loss in 12 games even as Beal came up with a season-high 34 points and Wall also scored a season-high 31.

Marcin Gortat had 10 points and 16 rebounds.
