Former Spurs defensive lynchpin Bruce Bowen arriving in Manila to grace NBA Finals festivities
Bruce Bowen was Gregg Popovich's No. 1 stopper in three Spurs champion teams.

FORMER San Antonio Spurs defensive lynchpin Bruce Bowen will visit the Philippines to celebrate the NBA Finals with Filipino fans.

A three-time champion with the San Antonio Spurs, the 6-7 Bowen was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team from 2004-2008 and Second Team from 2001-2003.

Bowen, 46, will attend two NBA Finals viewing parties for fans hosted by NBA broadcast partner Solar and participate in NBA Cares community outreach efforts.

“I look forward to visiting the Philippines to enjoy the NBA Finals alongside Filipino fans,” said Bowen.  “I’ve heard so much about the Philippines and their basketball fandom, and I can’t wait to experience it for myself.”

Bowen will attend the viewing parties hosted by NBA broadcast partner Solar for Games 1 and 2 of the 2018 NBA Finals on June 1 and 4 at the Eastwood City Mall Activity Center and Buffalo Wild Wings in Glorietta 2, respectively.

Bowen will also appear on #NBAStreamSquad, a digital show featuring local influencers that will preview the NBA Finals.

Fans can also catch Bowen and the #NBAStreamSquad live on June 3 at the Eastwood City Mall Activity Center and on the NBA Philippines Facebook page on May 31 and June 3.

As part of NBA Cares efforts, Bowen will also help lead a basketball clinic with 40 boys and girls at the NBA-revitalized basketball court at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines College of Engineering on June 2.
