Hawks end two weeks of futility, arrest seven-game slide at expense of Heat

THE Hawks ended a seven-game losing run and sent the Miami Heat to a third straight loss, 103-95, on Wednesday in Atlanta (Thursday, Manila time).

Dwight Howard had 23 points and 17 rebounds for Atlanta, which led by seven at the half and extended it to 15 entering fourth.

Paul Millsap had 21 points and was a rebound short of a double-double as the Hawks recorded their 11th win in 23 outings.

Dennis Schroder added 17 points as Atlanta finally got back on track after two winless weeks. The Hawks last won in November against the Pacers.

Tyler Johnson came off the bench to lead the Heat in scoring with 27 points.

Goran Dragic scored 21 and Wayne Ellington had 19 points for Miami, which absorbed its 15th loss in 22 games.
