DIRK Nowitzki feels blessed to have a long career that put him in a position to join the NBA’s elite.

The German star is closing in on 30,000 points, and is set to put his name along with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain and Kobe Bryant in that elite club.

He is also the first international player to hit the milestone.

Nowitzki said he is glad that as a “normal guy” he is able to join the league’s greats, noting that LeBron James could achieve the feat next year “which is incredible.”
