Knicks stars Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Rose to sit out showdown vs Warriors due to injuries

INJURIES will sideline Carmelo Anthony and Derrick Rose in the New York Knicks’ game against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday (Friday, Manila time).

Anthony will be out due to soreness in his right shoulder while Rose is experiencing discomfort resulting from back spasms.

Rose has missed action in three of the Knicks’ last five games due to his bothersome back, while Anthony sits out a game for the first time this season due to an injury.

Both players have been major contributors in the Knicks’ 14-11 record to start the season. Anthony has averaged 22 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists. Acquired from the Chicago Bulls in the offseason via trade , Rose has been putting up a solid 16.4 points, 4.4 assists and 4 boards.

Brandon Jennings has been slated to start in lieu of Rose while Anthony’s replacement is a game-time decision.
