NEW Orleans Pelicans big man DeMarcus Cousins was honored with a video tribute in his first game ahainst his former team Sacramento Kings this season on Thursday (Friday, Manila time).

Cousins returned the favor with a huge outing to lead the Pelicans to a stunning come-from-behind win, 114-106, at the Golden 1 Center.

The New Orleans star was on fire from the start, fired up in his return to Sacramento as he was given a video tribute and a standing ovation in the introduction of the starters.

Still, his 20-point, 9-rebound effort in the first half was not enough against the hot-starting Kings, who led by as much as 19 before the break.

The Pelicans, though, refused to give up, as Jrue Holiday and Cousins teamed up to spark a 24-4 blitz to erase the deficit, setting up a tightly contested fourth quarter until the New Orleans pulled away in the closing seconds.

Cousins hit the go-ahead triple at the 2:21 mark and the Pelicans never looked back, with the Pelicans big man finishing with 40-20 game as he ended up with 41 points and 23 rebounds to go with six assists.

Holiday added 20 markers, while Jameer Nelson scored 18 off the bench for New Orleans (2-3).

De’Aaron Fox led seven Kings (1-4) in double figures with 14 points off the bench. Zach Randolph chipped in13 points while Buddy Hield and Willie Cauley-Stein each scored 12.
