DANILO Gallinari scored 27 points as the Nuggets pounced early in a high-scoring 132-120 win to offset Damian Lillard’s 40-point and 10-assist performance and beat division rival Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday (Friday, Manila time).

Gallinari scored 20 points in the first half as the Nuggets (10-16) led from the onset, leading 74-56 at halftime and led by as much as 23.

Portland (13-15) tried to rally in the last period but only managed to close the gap to 10 at the 9:42 mark and could not make any headway in the face of Denver’s efficient shooting.

Denver had a good shooting night, making 15 of 31 shots from downtown and relied on balanced production as all starters and a total of eight players finished in double figures.
