Sizzling third quarter boosts Blazers to victory over slumping Hornets

DAMIAN Lillard scored 27 points and Allen Crabbe had 21 off the bench as the Trail Blazers used a strong third quarter push to send the slumping Charlotte Hornets to their fifth straight loss, 115-98, on Tuesday in Portland (Wednesday, Manila time).

Lillard was 10 of 18 from the field while Crabbe was 5 of 10 in 29 minutes of action for Portland which has won four of its last five games.

Portland had a 60-56 lead at halftime before a Mason Plumlee basket off an assist from Lillard sparked an 11-2 run to make it 67-52. The Blazers outscored the Hornets 30-18 for an 86-68 lead at the end of the period.  

C.J. McCollum added 18 points, while reserves Meyers Leonard finished with 12 points and Maurice Harkless chipped in 10.   

Kemba Walker had 22 points while Nicolas Batum added 18 for the Hornets.

The Blazers have won nine straight against the Hornets.
