Blazers rip Lakers to extend winning streak to three

THE Portland Trail Blazers stretched their win streak to three with a 97-81 rout of the lowly Lakers on Sunday in Los Angeles (Monday, Manila time).

Damian Lillard showed the way for the Blazers, who overpowered the Lakers, 37-24 in the third quarter en route to their 35th win in 43 games.

The Blazers are tied with the Denver Nuggets for the eighth spot in the Western Conference.

Allen Crabbe came off the bench to score 18, while CJ McCollum had 13 points for Portland.

The Lakers, coming off a win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, suffered their seventh loss in the last eight games.

D’Angelo Russell scored 22, while Tyler Ennis had 14 points for the Lakers, at the bottom of the Western Conference standings with a 21-52 record.
