Carmelo-less Knicks rally to beat Magic and snap two-game slide

COURTNEY Lee scored 18 points, Lance Thomas added 17 and the New York Knicks snapped a two-game losing streak with a big fourth quarter rally to beat the Orlando Magic, 113-105, on Monday night (Tuesday, Manila time).

Down by seven at the start of the fourth quarter, the Knicks scored 10 straight points which it used as a basis for a 23-4 run to put them up 108-96 with 4:38 left in the game.

Willy Hernangomez had 14 points and eight rebounds, while Kristaps Porzingis added 14 points for New York. Kyle O'Quinn registered 11 points and eight rebounds against his former team, all in the fourth quarter comeback.

New York outscored the Magic 28-13 by shooting 12 of 22 in the final period while limiting Orlando to 3 of 17 shooting in the fourth quarter.

The loss spoiled Magic guard’s Elfrid Payton first triple-double of the season with 16 points, 10 assists and 11 rebounds. Evan Fournier led Orlando with 25 points and Aaron Gordon had 17 in the Magic's third loss in four games.

Knicks top scorer Carmelo Anthony missed the game with a sore knee.
