TANDUAY Rum broke ground for Philippine companies as it bared its historic partnership with the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets and the Barclays Center.

With the deal announced Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila time), Tanduay made history as the first Filipino company to tie up with an NBA arena and team as the official rum of the Barclays Center and the Nets.

“Tanduay is very proud to be part of this historic partnership, the first of its kind for a Filipino company,” says Lucio Tan, Jr., President of Tanduay.

“Like Brooklyn, Tanduay shares a unique spirit and dynamic character that is anything but ordinary. Tanduay and Brooklyn are a natural fit, and we look forward to building our legacy together,” he added.

As part of the partnership, Tanduay also becomes the presenting sponsor of the arena’s 40/40 Club & Restaurant as well as an associate sponsor in the Barclays Center’s Brooklyn Show with different signage integrated around the arena.

“We are excited to partner with Tanduay Rum as Barclays Center and the Brooklyn Nets continue to go global. Partnering with Tanduay is a valuable opportunity to welcome an emerging international business into our arena that will enhance the overall experience of our fans,” said Brett Yormark, CEO of Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment.

Tanduay is set to host a post-game party and concert at the 40/40 Club to kick off the partnership on Sunday after the Nets host the New York Knicks.
