Celtics score wire-to-wire win over Suns, spoil 20-year-old Devin Booker’s 70-point night

THE Celtics led throughout, easing to over the Phoenix Suns, 130-120, and spoiling Devin Booker’s 70-point performance on Friday in Boston (Saturday, Manila time).

Isaiah Thomas showed the way for the Celtics, who scored the game’s first six points and were never seriously threatened.

The 20-year-old Booker had 51 at halftime, but by then Boston was well ahead 66-43.

Thomas scored 34 points on 10 of 30 shooting as the Celtics notched their third straight win and 47th in 73 outings.

Al Horford had 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Gerald Green came off the bench to also deliver 15 points.

The Suns absorbed their seventh straight loss and 51st in73 games.

Booker went 21 for 40 from the field and hit 24 of 26 free throws as he joined an elite list of 70-point scorers led by Wilt Chamberlain.

The list includes Kobe Bryant, David Robinson, David Thompson and Elgin Baylor.
