Double-doubles by Blake Griffin, Chris Paul power Clippers past Pelicans

BLAKE Griffin had 27 points and pulled down 10 rebounds and Chris Paul scored 17 and made 13 assists as the Los Angeles Clippers downed the Pelicans, 114-96, on Friday in New Orleans (Saturday, Manila time).

The Clippers scored a huge follow-up to their win over the suddenly slumping Cleveland Cavaliers, registering their 16th victory in 21 outings.

Jamal Crawford scored 21 and Luc Mbah a Moute chipped in with 15 points as the Clippers made it back-to-back wins after three straight losses.

The Pelicans could not get a win run going after a big win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Anthony Davis scored 21 points even after hurting his shoulder as the Pelicans absorbed their third loss in the last four games.

No other Pelicans starter scored in double-figures, with E’Twaun Moore scoring 15 and Terrence Jones delivering 14 off the bench.
