ANTHONY Davis posted a double-double to carry a New Orleans Pelicans squad missing DeMarcus Cousins to a 115-90 victory over the Nuggets on Sunday in Denver (Monday, Manila time).

The Pelicans scored their fourth win in the last five games and improved their record to 31-42, still three places out of the playoff spots.

Davis came up with 31 points and 15 rebounds for the Pelicans, while Cousins sat out after suffering a right ankle injury in the loss to the Houston Rockets.

Jrue Holiday, Donatas Motiejunas and Jordan Crawford each scored 13 points for New Orleans.

The Nuggets suffered their third loss in the last five games.

Mason Plumlee came off the bench to lead the Nuggets, scoring 16 points, while fellow reserve jamal Murray scored 13.

Gary Harris also had 13 points, while Danilo Gallinari scored 11 for Denver, which absorbed its 38th loss in 73 games.
