Andre Drummond, Jon Leuer dominate as Detroit Pistons defeat LA Lakers 

ANDRE Drummond had 24 points, 17 rebounds, four blocks and three steals as he dominated both ends of the floor, leading the Detroit Pistons in a 121-102 rout of the visiting Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night (Thursday, Manila time).

Detroit swept the regular season series against the Lakers who visited The Palace for what could be the last time with the Pistons scheduled to transfer to a new arena next season. The teams faced off twice in the NBA Finals, with Los Angeles going 0-5 at The Palace and the Pistons winning the title in 1989 and 2004.

The Pistons had a 56-50 lead at the half before going on an 11-0 run to start the third quarter to the game open in the third quarter. Detroit went on an 11-0 run to take an 82-61 lead.

The Lakers defense could not contain Detroit’s big men in the paint where they were outscored 70-46.  

Jon Leuer added 20 points for the Pistons, who have won four of their last five games. Tobias Harris added 19 points.

Julius Randle and Lou Williams scored 17 points apiece for the Lakers. Rookie Brandon Ingram scored 15 while Tarik Black grabbed 10 rebounds to go with his eight points.

NBA legend Isiah Thomas was honored in a halftime ceremony by the Pistons as part of the team's ongoing celebration of its years at The Palace.
