ANDRAY Blatche and Joe Johnson scored 21 points apiece as the Brooklyn Nets beat the Los Angeles Clippers 102-93 on Thursday night (Friday, Manila time), making Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett winners in their first matchup with former coach Doc Rivers.
Pierce and Garnett went 2-0 in a reunion tour of ex-Celtics this week. They helped the Nets beat Boston at home Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila time), then Rivers made an emotional return to Boston on Wednesday (Thursday, Manila time).
Brook Lopez added 16 points and Deron Williams 15 for the Nets, who earned their third straight win, a season-high. Pierce scored 10 points off the bench in his second game back from a hand injury. Garnett only scored two points but his rugged defense contained Blake Griffin.
Chris Paul scored 20 points but only two assists. Griffin tallied 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Clippers, who were on the sixth stop of their seven-game road trip.
