NBA makes rule changes on shot clock, clear-path foul, replay usage

A "hostile act" can now be considered as hostile interaction with a referee.

THE NBA is set to decide on three rule changes for the upcoming season.

The league’s competition committee has proposed to reset the shot clock to 14 seconds – from 24 – after an offensive rebound, simplifying the clear-path foul rule, and broadening the meaning of “hostile act” to more easily turn to instant replay.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported the development that will likely affect gameplay starting next season.

The league needs two-third majority vote from the board of governors to pass the new rules.
