THE qualifying events for the Philippine representatives to the NBA 2K17 Asia Tournament begins next month.
Gamers battle it out on October 15 and 16 at the SM Southmall in Las Pinas, while the third and final qualifier is set October 29 at the E-Sports and Gaming Summit in SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
The top four players in each of the three qualifying legs will play in the semifinal and final qualifiers on October 30 at the SMX Convention Center.
The winner and the first runner-up will be part of the Philippine team that will compete in the Asia Tournament this year in Taipei.
Looking to repeat is Aminolah “Rial” Polong Jr., who beat Wilmer “Ming” Magno in the final.
Using the Cleveland Cavaliers, Polong defeated Magno's Oklahoma City Thunder, 51-40, to emerge as the Asian champion.
The NBA 2K17 was launched in the Philippines on Friday at the NBA Cafe Manila with new features along with a companion app. Also introduced was MyCAREER where the user can make decisions on and off-the-court from college to the NBA.
"We are thrilled to deliver an even more ambitious and authentic basketball experience in NBA 2K17," said Greg Thomas, president of Visual Concepts, developer of NBA 2K17.
